About the artist:

Bio: The first time I was punished, I was put in “time-out” facing the corner. My mother said I sat in my little pink chair and carried on a full conversation with the wall, for the entire five minutes. (HA! Some punishment that was.) She knew right away, I had quite the imagination. She purchased my first paint-by-number set, in elementary school, during breaks to keep me busy. My skills soon outgrew those sets. Bob Ross taught me the rest. (Who else misses him?) I’m your typical Gemini, always creating, always experimenting. In December 2014, I suffered from a brain injury followed by PTSD and Post-Concussion Syndrome. Those in the art community know art is therapy. For me, it was the thread that kept me going through this difficult time. When I could not communicate with my words because I could not remember the name of an object or even a person’s name, I could use my art as a form of expression. Now healed, I am heavily involved with my local Alzheimer’s Association. I believe in giving back to the community. Therefore, the pieces I created during my injury, I put up for auction and/or sale to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s, dementia, and brain health. In addition, I paint pet portraits for shelter dogs and cats to raise funds and promote adoption. Please feel to contact me at for additional sales on my Instagram account at PiecesOfCristina and commission pieces. I can’t wait to meet you! Cristina Conti
