About the artist:
Bio: I have a specific line of thought which inspires my work and which I call "abstractivation". By this formulation I mean the process of transforming what we find in nature and which I find fascinating (nudes, countrysides, cities....) by means of the free abstract utilisation of forms and colours. I like to maintain a balance where these two worlds come together. Using the brute energy of the abstract and maintaining the so enigmatic soul of the natural figure, and this in a constant search for harmony and composition. Ever since my childhood I have been working on paintings and drawings. And today, at forty years of age, the origins of my inspiration are to be found in Poliakoff, les Fauves, and les Nabis, and particularly Bonnard. More recently, David Hockney. For a very long time now I have been following on the teaching of Jacques Vigot who introduced me to abstract art. Ever since 2014 I have belonged to the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris, in the studio of Jérôme Quèbre, and have incessantly combined the abstract with the figurative.
