About the artist
Bio: I am a visual artist with a unique style that bridges the gap between Impressionism and Modern Abstract Expressionism. Although much of my work is rooted in Realism, many of my pieces can also be considered ideal Romanticism. I mostly enjoy painting portraits uncovering peoples stories that in reality reflect my own story. I work mostly with oils in the alla prima method. My brushwork is expressive and loose, although the extent of this depends on the particular work of art as I also enjoy classical layering or glazing techniques. I recently started dabbling in impasto style paintings. You will find many of my new works applying loosely thick loads of paint either with a palette knife or large brush. I believe many more of my paintings will be in impasto as I continue to grow and evolve as an artist. I am a native of New Jersey, born and raised. I have been drawn to portraiture in particular and art in general since my early childhood. There is just something about people and their stories that I hope to capture and express in my works of art. There are many Master Artists that have had influence on my art, of whom I desire to emulate such as; contemporary Master Artist Mark Carder, John Singer Sargent, Velazquez, Vermeer, Rembrand, Courbet, Cezanne, Manet, Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Jack Vettriano, and Picasso. My work has continued to mature and change over the years, keep following me as I grow into what I hope will one day be memorable art enjoyed by many from generation to generation.
